Reptiles

There are many types of reptiles. Crocodiles, snakes, turtles and lizards are some of them. Reptiles have scales. Reptiles eat insects, fish, plants and other animals. Some reptiles can climb. Some swim. Some reptiles can move quickly.
Snakes do not have legs. Lizards have sharp claws.
Reptiles live in different places. Some live in deserts and the sea. Some reptiles live in our garden too.

Money doesn’t buy happiness

At present, people think that money is the main factor needed to live with. But the more attention and priority given to money, the more people become unhappy.

The reason behind this is that people tend to compete with one another with our money and not enjoy and accept the things we already have. Though we think that money is happiness, it can bring great pain and unhappiness if used incorrectly with a wrong goal.

We must learn this lesson while we can or else we may learn it the hard way, later in life. Therefore we as humans must prevent ourselves from being consumed by the greed for riches and live in peace with each other, using money to work not only for our satisfaction but for others as well.

A film I enjoyed

“The Chipmunks’ is a film I enjoyed greatly. It is about three loveable squirrels, Simon, Alvin and Theodore who ultimately rise to stardom. Luck strikes them when they meet Dave, a lyricist and musician, who takes them under his loving care and makes them superstars.

The film certainly contains exciting episodes. Alvin’s mischievousness and his little antics are interesting. The chipmunks’ meeting the chippettes’ is also interesting. They try to rise above the chipmunks but in the end couple up with the chipmunks and become a joint success. The chipmunks’ concern over Dave’s health and to see him home is a moving scene.

The beauty and admiration about them is their unity and togetherness and how they help others when needed, regardless of their kind and size. The songs they sing, lures any viewer. The film is full of bright colours which also contribute to its enjoyment.

My motherland

My motherland is Sri Lanka. It is called the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’. It is a small island. It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean.
Sri Lanka has a very long history and it begins with King Vijaya. The first King of Sri Lanka was King Vijaya. Many kings ruled Sri Lanka since then until Sri Lanka was captured by foreigners. T he last king of Sri Lanka was King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.

Although my country may look like a dot on the world map, it is famous in The entire world. I love my country very much.

School Field Trip

First we went to the Tea factory. Then we saw how the tea leaves were dried using fans. After that Uncle Sunil explained to us how to dry the tea leaves. We saw a lot of workers doing hard work. After that Uncle Sunil told us about the different kinds of tea leaves.

Then we went to a reception hall to have our lunch. First we went inside and sat in our places and they served us a welcome drink. Then we went to the playground to play. After that we washed our hands and sat for lunch. We had fried rice, potatoes, fried chicken, beans, carrots and papadam. It was a very tasty lunch.

After that we went to the park for some games. After playing for some time, we got into the bus and came to school. We thank our teachers for taking us on such a wonderful trip. It was a wonderful day out. It was nice to learn something new about tea. I hope everyone enjoyed the trip.
