St. Peter’s College, Colombo takes first place at the National Cadet Corps’ Assessment Camp

St. Peter’s College, Colombo with a vibrant flood of blue, white and gold won first place at the recently concluded Annual Assessment Camp of National Cadet Corps’ Air Wing Cadets (Boys) held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Diyatalawa under the aegis of the Commanding Officer Group Captain W.W.P.D. Fernando by Officer Commanding Training, Wing Commander P.V.K. Senadheera.
765 school Air Wing Cadets from 31 schools vied for the honours in the: Director’s Examination, Confidence Test, Squadron Drill,

Firing, Billet Inspection, Physical Efficiency Test and Concert. The Peterites had notable success in the following:
Director’s Test-1st place
Self Confidence Test-2nd place
Billet Inspection-2nd place
Drama Competition- 2nd place


The Annual Assessment Camp concluded with the “Passing out Parade” on June 15, at the Bentley Grounds, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Diyatalawa. The event was presided over by Major General G.B.W. Jayasundara, the Director of the National Cadet Corps who was the Chief Guest. Major General Jayasundara gave away the awards. Director Welfare of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Vice Marshal M.L.K. Perera, former Commanding Officer Group Captain A.J. Amerasinghe together with senior officers of the army were guests of honour.
