My Father

My father’s name is Mohammed Rashad Miskin. He was born on January 31, 1974. His favourite subject was Information Technology. I enjoyed playing games with my father on weekends.

My father studied at Wesley College, Colombo and worked at HSBC Bank in Dubai. My father helped me in Science and Maths when I had difficulties. When I got good grades in my tests he rewarded me by buying my favourite toys.

Unfortunately, my father fell ill last year and passed away on March 10, 2013. He was the best father in the world and I love him and miss him a lot.

Many of us feel lucky to have lovely dads, but I think that I have got the world’s best dad. So, my dad is my hero. My father earns every day and works all the time to satisfy all my daily needs. He is ever ready to buy me the things I want. He is my all time helping hand. He advises me to do only good and helps me in completing my difficult homework. I must surely thank him for the great knowledge he has gifted me.

He comforts me in times of worry. What a great dad he is. He’s really brilliant.I enjoy golden moments only with my father. I feel really blessed to have him. He’s not only my dad, he is my guide, advisor, teacher, best friend and moreover he is my superhero.

Giving me nourishment
Giving me life
Oh Father! I owe you
Everything in life

Great poets and writers have written great things about mothers but what about fathers? Only the man who becomes a father knows all the hardships he will face and the sacrifice he will make to provide nourishment for his family.

“A man is the strength of a woman”, is an age old saying. In most families the father works day and night without thinking of his own fatigue, to provide for his family. A mother cannot cope alone in this world with her children and children need the love of both parents.

Every human is born because of a mother but the shadow of protection, love and care depends on a father. No scientist in the world has ever accurately described the sacrifice done by a father to feed his children.

Just as Jean Patrick once said, “ Throughout the years women have achieved great things but their unraveling courage is gained from a son, husband and most important – by a Father.”
