Cars

There are many types of cars such as Jaguar, Toyota, Mercedes, Benz, Ferrari, Doge Viper GTS, Ford Victoria, Aston Martin etc.
Cars have four wheels. Some cars are used as taxis. Cars have engines, steering wheels, lights, seats and gear boxes. Cars have headlamps and side lamps. Cars go by petrol.

Cars have many accidents so there are rules for vehicles and pedestrians. My favourite car is the Jaguar.

Say No to Tobacco

Strange leaves found by Columbus
Made a rapid spread of
Nicotina Tobacum
One third of adults get addicted!

Both men and women
Smoking cigarettes became a trend
Under aged exposed and
addicted to smoking
Death rattles many doors
Technology such as TV, videos and movies,
Influence kids to experiment smoking
No warning or bad effects given

My dear fellow members
Tobacco damages your
respiratory system
Your pearly white teeth get stained
Oh the pain you will receive when you suffer
from heart problems, cancer, lung disease

Its time to say Yes to health
Its time to say No to Tobacco

My pet

My pet is a chick. There are four chicks. They are yellow in colour. They like to eat papaw leaves. They are so playful.
The male chick crows, early in the morning. We grew them from a young age. Now they are big. I love them very much.

Kotmale Reservoir

On October 28, we went to see the Kotmale Reservoir. It is a very large reservoir. After taking some photos we went to walk on the dam. We even saw the powerhouse and a man taught us how they control the gates. When the water fills in the reservoir, they open the gates.

Then the water flows down the tunnel to the large underground turbines and the electricity made by the turbines goes through the large pylons on the mountains. Then by the pylons the electricity is sent to homes and we use that electricity to do various kinds of jobs.

A visit to the past

It was 7.30 in the morning. The students walked to the house where the first pupil of the school lived. They had an enjoyable
breakfast that their host had prepared. He had boiled manioc, sweet potatoes, varieties of yam and breadfruit. Everything was from his garden. The manioc was fresh, pulled out the previous day. So were the other yams and sweet potatoes. There were two types of Katta Sambol, the normal one with red chillies and another with Kochchi. He had also cooked some red rice and made a delicious white coconut gravy for it.

The coffee was homemade. We sipped the coffee, sitting out looking at the coffee trees in bloom. The white flowers filled the air with its fragrance, the twigs were lined with the red berries. Two large combs of bananas followed, once again from the garden.

It was a visit that would not be forgotten. The students wanted to know what it was like seventy years ago. They learnt by his experiences. Then he brought out his album. It had photographs of the school, his pets and some events and scenes of that time. They were black and white photographs. They were beautiful.

We were surprised to see them in such a good condition. “Why don’t we organize a photographic exhibition?” asked Hana. Everybody agreed. It was a good idea. So we decided to write to past pupils of the school for their photographs.
