The Sri Lanka Inbound Tour Operators Association (SLAITO) will be heading to Jaffna next week seeking opportunities and possibilities of marketing the destination for upcoming seasons.

The tourism industry together with Sri Lanka Tourism would be conducting a tour of Jaffna and its environs in this regard, Mahen Kariyawasam told the Business Times. During the familiarisation tour SLAITO will be hosting hoteliers in Jaffna to a dinner in a bid to get together with local tour operators and conduct one-on-one business meetings. They would also be taking a tour of the Delft island to get to know what new places of interest could be marketed like the Dutch island that it was previously and other historical monuments, he said.
