Local, overseas Degree programmes from ESOFT Metro Campus For post-O/L students
View(s):The ESOFT Metro Campus has provided the opportunity of following the following local and overseas degrees such as Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree course of the University of Colombo, the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT Course of the British Computer Institute (BCS), the BA (Hons) Degree of Business and Finance of the Bucks New University-UK and the B.Sc (Hons) in Computing Degree for students who sat for the past G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination.
The BIT External Degree of the University of Colombo, launched in the year 2000, has gained local and international recognition by now. Students awaiting the results of the just concluded G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination could complete the FIT Course of the University of Colombo and register to follow the BIT Degree Course.
The BIT Degree can be completed in three years. As the information technology sphere offers many employment opportunities, students obtaining a BIT Degree could obtain socially accepted highly remunerated employment very easily. At present, employment in the IT sphere is equivalent to professions in medical, law and engineering fields in terms of income generation and social status.
The ESOFT Metro Campus has been conducting lectures for the Colombo University BIT External Degree from its’ inception in the year 2000. In the years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, students who achieved the best results in BIT Convocations were ESOFT students. ESOFT has over 40 branches in main cities all over the island and students could select a branch of the ESOFT Metro Campus most convenient for them.
The British Computer Society (BCS), the Chartered Institute for IT, conducts its’ BCS-Higher Education Qualifications, the Certificate in IT Course, the Diploma in IT Course, and the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT Course in several other countries of the world as well as in Sri Lanka. Students who have sat for the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination just concluded could also follow the Certificate in IT Course and the Diploma in IT Course of the British Computer Society (BCS) and register for the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT Course.
ESOFT, the largest higher education institution with 40 branches island-wide where all educational programmes pertaining to the information and communications technology could be followed at very competitive rates, is conducting BCS Higher Education Qualifications courses from the year 2000. ESOFT Students bagged the best results at BCS Convocation in the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 consecutively.
BCS has awarded the Accredited Course Provider Certificate to ESOFT to conduct BCS educational programmes in Sri Lanka. They have given this certification pertaining to the Certificate in IT course, the Diploma in IT course and the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT course after observing the number of students following the BCS Higher Education Qualifications courses at ESOFT, results obtained, institutional facilities and the qualifications of the panel of lecturers.
Post-O/L students can enter the Edexcel Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme choosing either the Computing or Business Management fields. This is a modular programme that can be completed in a period of 1 ˝ to 2 years. Thereafter, students can complete their Bachelors Degree via the partnership that ESOFT has with the Buckinghamshire New University.
Top-up (final year) degree programmes are currently available in the form of B.Sc (Hons) in Computing, and B.A. (Hons) in Business & Finance. Even if your child wishes to follow a different stream, or wishes to enter into state university, we can offer part time classes on the weekends thereby allowing your child to gain a double qualification which would definitely provide a more solid foundation for the future.
