Yawwani Poornima Gunawardana, 25, of Bellanwila has been granted a research studentship award from the University of Southampton in the UK to follow a PhD in computer science. An old girl of Musaeus College she completed her BSc Computer Science at the University of Colombo with first class honours and won the Prof. Mohan Munasinghe award (gold medal) for computer science. She is the daughter of Mr. L.S. Gunawardana and Mrs. D.A. Gunawardana.
