The Colombo Stock Exchange said this week that its officials were not summoned before the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) for an inquiry on the stock market.

It was referring to a report in last week’s Business Times which said officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the CSE had been called for a meeting this week.

The reference was attributed to Opposition MP Ravi Karunanayake.
