“Dangaya” back at Punchi theatre

The latest performance of “Dangaya’ and “Punchi Andare” produced by Yashodhara Sarachchandra’s and Kusumsiri Liyanarachchi will go on the boards on August 11 at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm at Namel Malini Punchi Theatre in Borella.
A family entertainment, the objective of the plays is to cultivate a healthy appreciation for drama among young audiences.
These two children’s plays were created by Yashodhara and Kusumsiri whilst in Australia and were performed on a number of occasions for Australian audiences.

Yashodhara is currently following a Doctoral research programme at the La Trobe University in Melbourne. She played the role of Maname Queen in Prof. Sarachchandra’s ‘Maname for over thirteen years.

With several national awards to her name, Yashodhara has been actively involved in professional Sinhala theatre for the past thirty one years.

The actors include Sunil Thilakaratne, Jayanath Handara, Pradeep Ramavikrama, Pramila Samarakoon, Kalum Kalhari Gamlath, Madhuranga Sri Lal, Nadeesha Sandamali, Ruchira Sooriarachchi, Himashi Vithanage, Nadeeka Kumudu Kumari, Vishva Thilakaratne, Randika Chathurani, Sachithri Athukorala, Devinda Wickramasinghe and many other.
The main organizer for the productions is Jude Srimal. Produced by Nirmala Maginaarachchi, Chairperson, Nordic Design.
Tickets are available at Sarasavi Book shops Nugegoda, Salaka Senkada Town Hall, Sadeepa Book shop Borella and Namel Malini Punchi Theater.
