The 2nd Open Badminton tournament for children Under-11 and 13 was organised and conducted by the Moratuwa YMCA at its indoor sports complex on March 17, 18 and 24 March. This tournament which was held under the patronage of Western Province Badminton Association attracted a large number of up and coming players who exhibited high standards at the sport. Winners and runners-up received valuable gifts, medals and certificates. Former national champion and national coach L.R. Ariyananda graced the occasion as the chief guest.
