No chair

It was a big cager final. Both teams were there in full glory and they were waiting for the chief guest to come so that the teams could be introduced to him. The young chief guest came and there was no seat reserved for him. Being the sporting kind he decided to mix with the players and their supporters. The organizers came to know that the young chief guest was at the premises and started searching for him frantically. But the young man was quite happy where he was. So much so for protocol!

Making muscles
This happened at a top notch gymnasium. The top man had wanted some new equipment installed at the gymnasium and had given the task to a lady, who is in charge of purchasing. She had quoted some staggering prices for the gym machines. One such equipment was quoted at 14 lakhs. The top man who smelt a rat had gone hunting for the equipment himself and had purchased the required stuff for eight lakhs. Now he is wondering whether he could trust some people who are working under him.

Battle for rooms
There is a major battle going on at the headquarters of a major sport. Some officials have ear-marked certain rooms for their offices. The saying amongst the juniors in this sports body is that those who are fighting for rooms have been helpful in getting certain officials in to power and now they can choose the offices that they desire. Some of these officials even have no positions in the sports body itself, yet they want rooms!

Goal is Jail
A goal is when you put the ball through the posts in most sports. Goal is Jail when you stop a car in which a judging type travels. The jail is waiting on arrival and the sunglasses will not cover the face.

Out he goes
Coaches shouting at refas are the common sight in SL. Refas who coaches does so at their colleges too. This time around in Bang in Kok the red card was shown and out he went kicking the oval ball.

Swimming for trouble
A major trouble is brewing at a top notch swimming club in the City as they have been evading tax for quite some time. The authorities concerned are now planning to take over this club. They say that the amount that has to be paid is in the region of millions. At the time we came to hear about it a meeting was on at swimming club. The big question is will they pocket out this huge amount, if not what will be the penalty?

The dejected cameraman
This lad from Kandy has been suspected for chucking. This has been going on for quite a while and it has been noted that a certain umpire has stood in nine games where this lad has bowled. So a video cameraman was sent to the hills to capture this lad’s action. What happened? The video cameraman was sent packing by the security saying that there is no need to catch this youngster’s bowling action. The cameraman had to turn away dejected.

Practices of a strange nature
Practices are now on to select an under 19 squad. Some members in the pool amounting to seven or eight youngsters are not attending regular practices as they are of the opinion that their services are very much needed and they will never be overlooked. This has caused a lot of anxiety among other poolists. They are wondering whether it is worth their while to attend these practices.
