Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The Central Hills

By Asheni Dissanayake, St. Bridget’s Convent

The central hills the crown of our country,
Is studded with beauty everywhere.
That is why we make it a point,
During our vacation to be there.

The cool climb to the mountains,
Is heavenly to express.
The orderly tea plantations like
Well behaved kids in a class I guess

Farms with grazing cattle are a pleasant sight to see.
The mist covered lakes are freezing and icy as can be.

The cascading silvery
waterfalls are a treat to the eyes,
If I was ever to be born again,
Sri Lanka is surely my first choice!!
