Sri Lankas paddlers took on their formidable counterparts from Tamil Nadu at the Jagath Rajapakse International Stadium in Peradeniya and came off second best. These matches were part of the local team’s preparation for the forthcoming Asian and World Championships.
The vice president of the SLTTA was happy that the local had encountered quality opposition. Victory would have sweet he said. However the local players showed plenty of grit and in some cases matched their opponents shot to shot.
The Tamil Nadu players triumphed by 7 matches to 3.
