Colts down Lankan CC with a day to spare

Colts recorded their first win of the Premier Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament when they defeated Lankan CC by six wickets with a day to spare in the match concluded at the Colts ground yesterday.
Colts put themselves in a strong position when play stopped for lunch on day two as they had their opponents struggling at 165 for 7 and then bowled them out for 196. This left Cots a target of just 68 runs which they achieved for the loss of four wickets.

Bloomfield has already taken a first inning lead over Ragama CC when play ended on day two in the match played at Reid Avenue. Bloomfield after making 315 restricted Ragama CC resuming from their overnight score of 102 for 4 to 191. Right arm pacie Tyrone Gamage captured 5 for 55.

An unbeaten knock of 114 by skipper Kaushal Silva and a 93 by Tharanga Paranavithana saw SSC make a bold reply of 275 for 2 to Chilaw Marians score of 425 which came on the back of an unbeaten ton by Shaminda Eranga.

An unbeaten knock of 169 by Tamil Union opener Varun Chopra saw his team come out on top against NCC on the second day in the match played at P. Sara Stadium.

Sri Lanka Ports Authority was on top against Army in the match played at Sooriyawewa.
