Funday Times - A Poem for the week

My garden

By Nelaka Edirisinghe (13 years), S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia

I have a little garden,
Where beautiful flowers grow,
Roses, daisies and
jasmines,
And many, many more.

The scent of jasmines fill the air,
These lovely flowers so sweet and fair,
The bright blue skies and butterflies,
Brighten my garden on every side.

Bathed by the sunset’s radiant glow,
And kissed by the winds that softly blow,
These pretty flowers so sweet and fair,
I tend my garden with
loving care.

Early morning as I get up,
And walk along my garden path,
The flowers dressed in
colours bright,
Fill me with joy and pure delight
