IIHS takes drama to a new level

The new entrants of IIHS showed a most creative and artistic side to themselves at the first annual drama completion. A drama competition with a difference that stayed true to the ‘green’ ethos of IIHS, it was held on the ground of the Campus.

The students had put much thought and effort into the props and costumes and displayed amazing confidence and talent as they took the audience through four very different plays. They were adaptations of ‘Dear Departed’ and the TV show ‘mind your language; together with two original scripts ‘Quack’ a story about a fake doctor and ‘Entangled’ a story involving a prince, beautiful girls and a hero on a motorcycle. The use of the grounds for maximum effort together with amazing sound effects earned the latter team the top prize in the competition.

The distinguished panel of Judges comprising Prof. Gunapala Nanayakkara, Mrs. Nanayakkara, Dr. Nihal De Silva and Mr. Cyril Surasinghe were most impressed with the level of talent and creativity of the students and commended all four groups on their performance.

Ms. Anne Shehani was awarded the prize of best actress for her role as ‘Prince Charming’ and Mr. Shafin Majid won the best actor title for his brilliant depiction of ‘Ali’.
