‘Breath’ comes alive at Hotel Lanka Princess

‘Breath’ is the latest outfit to hit the music scene. Led by talented Thushara Peiris of ‘me paluwe nimnaye’ fame, ‘Breath’ will perform at the Hotel Lanka Princess for this year’s New Years Eve Dance .
Thusahara said his band ‘Breath’ is busy with many engagements during the festive season in Colombo and outstation venues as well.

‘We perform at Hotel Lanka Princess in Aluthgama on regular basis on Wednesdaya and Saturdays and few other days in Colombo. Apart from regular venues, we play at seasonal gigs, Corporate functions and other parties in and aound in Colombo’ he said

‘Breath’ is a Trio led by Thushara keyboards and voacls along with Rishani Ekanayake handling frontline vocals and Priyantha Peiris on guitar and vocals. Thushara’s song ‘me paluwe nimnaye’ was a hit overnight and the video of the song is now being telecast by many television stations.

‘It was an encouraging attempt. After it hit the scene, I penned few songs and I am doing final touches to them. Most probably after this busy season I will release a couple to radio stations to air the songs’ he added.

Thushara started his music career in 1992 after leaving school. He formed a six piece band and after 3 years of hard work it was disbanded. Then he joined with Kumara Ekanayake and his band.

‘I was with him till he migrated to Australia. With this new band, I am planing to go a long journey. We play at lot of weddings and we play the popular songs of Jim Reeves , Engelbert Humperdinck , Elvis Presley, Beatles, Eagles, Bee Gees, CCR, Abba, Boney M, Olivia Newton John , the Carpenters, John Denver and other popular songs as well’.
