WORD BLASTERS TOASTMASTERS CLUB

Join officials during Charter Installation

Colombo, Sri Lanka, November 18, 2011 The special charter installation ceremony of Word Blasters Toastmasters Club (WBTMC) was held at a glittering ceremony on 14th of November 2011 at Sri Lanka Tourist Board Conference Hall. District Governor Mr. Zameen Saleem, Division Governor Ajantha Jayawardene and Area Governor Mr. Niroshan Nadarajah proclaimed that Word Blasters Toastmasters Club has officially been chartered. Mr. Ajantha Jayawardene gave out charter member certificates to all new members of the Club while Mr. Nadarajah inducted the new Ex-Co Council. Mr. Saleem presented the Charter Certificate to the Charter President Mr. Dian Abeyewardene.

“The Word Blasters Toastmasters Club was founded by members who came together to form a club after jelling together so well at a Speech Craft Programme” said Dian Abeyewardene during his presentation at the meeting. “Toastmasters has become an invaluable training and personal development program in our community. I urge our members to proceed with their manuals with the same motivation that they have started this amazing club and the Governors and other officials will always be there to give us a helping hand.” Many people attended the ceremony including the 22 Charter Members of the Word Blasters Toastmasters Club. The Club wishes to reach out and invite the community residents and employees from local organizations to attend a club meeting allowing them to better improve their leadership and presentation skills.

“Many people do not know what Toastmasters is or what it can do for them,” says Mr. Zameen Saleem. “In the simplest of terms, A Toastmasters club is comprised of a group of people, with different professional backgrounds and experiences, who meet regularly to practice and improve their public speaking and leadership skills in a safe environment.” Many people pay high fees for seminars to gain the skill and confidence necessary to face an audience or build their leadership skills.

Toastmasters provide an option that is less expensive and held in high regard in business circles and is equal to a MBA. “The Word Blasters Toastmasters Club is a vibrant club comprising of members from diverse professions with wide experience ranging from youthful graduates to high profile executives”, was the common sentiment expressed by several Toastmasters and guests present at the event. Distinguished invitees represented very senior Toastmaster Clubs such as Colombo Toastmasters, Millennium Toastmasters, ICASL Toastmasters and CIM Toastmasters among others.
