ST Biz Club post-budget panel discussion

The Sunday Times Business Club (STBC), following the tradition maintained for many years, is holding a post-budget panel discussion on Thursday, November 24 at the Taj Samudra hotel. The two panellists for the discussion are retired Central Bank (CB) Assistant Governor Dr. (Ms.) Anila Dias Bandaranaike and N.R. Gajendran, senior partner at Gajma and Co and Sri Lanka's foremost tax specialist.

The presentations by the panellists will be followed by discussion. The club is hosted by the Taj Samudra Hotel and co-sponsored by Hameedia.

CA Sri Lanka budget seminar with PBJ
The Institute of Chartered Accountants (which goes by a new acronym - CA Sri Lanka) has organized a post-budget seminar on 23rd November at the Water’s Edge with Secretary to the Treasury Dr. P.B. Jayasundera as the keynote speaker. Other speakers are N. R. Gajendran, Chairman of the Faculty of Taxation, Ms. Lakmali Nanayakkara, Alternate Chairperson of the Faculty of Taxation, H. B. A. Seneviratne, Deputy Commissioner General of the department of Inland Revenue and Ms. Dhammika Gunathilaka, Senior Tax Advisor to the Department of Fiscal Policy.

KPMG seminar
KPMG Sri Lanka is organising its budget seminar titled “A Growth Agenda” where the firm will present its analysis of the Fiscal Proposals for 2012. This year’s event is taking place on 22nd November 2011 at the Cinnamon Grand featuring a keynote address by KPMG’s Global Chairman Michael Andrew followed by an analysis of the fiscal proposals by Premila Perera, Partner – Head of Tax of KPMG in Sri Lanka.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion including Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Central Bank Governor, Rajan Brito, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Aitken Spence PLC and Suresh Shah, Vice Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

PBJ also at Ernest & Young ‘do’
Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundera will be the keynote speaker at the budget discussion organised by Ernest & Young on 22nd November at the Galadari Hotel.

Peradeniya University Budget discussion
A seminar and panel discussion on Budget proposals 2012 will be held at the Meteorology Department Auditorium, Colombo - from 7.00 pm on November 23. The speakers and panelists are Prof. S.S.Colombage of the Open University, K.G.D.D . Dheerasinghe - Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Saman Kelegama –Director IPS, Dharmasena Kodikara - Deputy Commissioner-Inland Revenue and N.R. Gajendran - Chairman, Faculty of Taxation.

The event is organized by the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya-Colombo chapter and sponsored by Seylan Bank.
