Wella comes back with a bang

By Nedra Wickremasinghe

Following the triumphant launch in New York, last week, Wella , the world's leader in hair colour products, was re-launched in Colombo recently amidst a large and stylish gathering of professionals from the hair and beauty industry, friends and clients. The evening also saw the launch of the Wella Studio - "The Training Centre", at 630, Kotte Road in Kotte, in a magnificent 260-year-old historic Dutch house.

The highlight of this evening was a stunning hair fashion show, and unveiling of the new colours for Spring/Summer 2012 ; "The Hot Drama" Collection. For the first segment titled "Grace", the inner-beauty, the demure models graced the catwalk in delicate designs in soft, muted tones , nudes, beiges and old-rose pinks in soft chiffons to emphasize the most important fashion accessory; the hair, the cut, the style, and, of course, the perfect colour and highlights.

The next segment was 'Blaze", a fiery and trendy Latino theme, and this was all about vibrancy and sex appeal, the models on the ramp in black, lace, frills and flounces . Interestingly, the outfits were all designed by the co-host Johann Peries, proprietor of the Cutting-Edge Station who also handled the compering for the evening.

Cosmotech (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Mega Pharma, the authorized dealer for Wella in Sri Lanka hosted the guests to canapés and cocktails while their special guest from Singapore Ronald Low , Director of Education of Wella Asia made a lovely presentation.
