Watawala brings 'the tea cup' to Colombo

An important aspect of ‘the tea cup’ - Colombo is the ambience contained within the premises. Within the heart of Colombo nestles a captivating location that brings with it the tastes and sounds of a tea plantation.

The ambience is so realistic as to incorporate even tea bushes in order to transport visitors to a plantation and those who visit ‘the tea cup’ - Colombo can for the first time have an understanding of tea in its most raw form by touching and feeling the tea leaves right here in Colombo.

The recent extension accommodates an indoor lounge apart from the garden area previously used. The décor used to further highlight and emphasize the plantation fresh ambience includes traditional tea chests which are fascinating in appearance as well as history.

At ‘the tea cup’ - Colombo, visitors are able to choose from a wide variety of over 40 different tea beverages, whether hot or cold. Not only do these come in common varieties and flavorings such as iced tea, plain tea and milk tea but also masala chai and cinnamon tea under the spicy varieties and exciting tea mocktails as well.

The Signature mocktail – lemon breeze deserves special mention as it certainly lives up to its name and is a refreshing thirst quencher on a hot day.

The staff at ‘the tea cup’ - Colombo too contributes towards enhancing the plantation fresh experience as all staff is well versed and knowledgeable on the various types of tea available, the elevations at which they are grown, the changing dynamics of tea types based on various conditions etc.
