‘Amagi Lagoon Resort and Spa’: Star class touch close to

‘Amagi Lagoon Resort and Spa’ is the newest player to be in close proximity to Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake (BIA).

In the final phase of the project, the Resort is about 85% completed and will be ready by the end of January. The Resort is located in 1.1 acre land bordering the Negombo lagoon from one side and has two access roads from Negombo Road.

‘The project is almost at the final level. We have to do the final touching up to the building and the interior. The staff too is almost at work now and we hope that we can open it for the later part for the winter season’ said S. Ganesh Nathan the proprietor of the Amagi Exports, the owning company of the Resort and Spa.

With the government’s new policies, tourism has been identified as a capable and effective driving mechanism of socio –economic development of the country. This has been evidenced by the increasing number of tourist arrivals hence creating a boom in the industry.

To become part of the boom and to enhance the facility as a transit hotel, Amagi Exports has decided to build this luxury 3 star hotel which is located by the beautiful Negombo Lagoon, close to the Airport Highway. Under this venture Amagi exports intends to provide 30 luxury rooms including 3 water bungalows, two restaurants , swimming pool, Banquette facility, fitness center and a modern Spa.
‘Amagi Lagoon Resort and Spa’ is just 3 km away from the International Airport.

Ganesh, a Chef by profession, has years of work experience with ‘Six Senses’ in the Maldives.
‘This is my dream come true and I always wanted to creat my own hospitality project. Main objective of the Resort’s architecture is to create spaces which interact with ‘Lagoon Life’ to provide opportunities to guests to move in to lagoon and its surrounding nature and experience the new styles of recreation’ explained Ganesh.

In this process it is proposed to merge the built environment at its best to minimize the disturbances to the lagoon life while providing maximum opportunities to experience the lagoon life with standards and comforts.

Guests could enjoy lagoon breeze and effect of floating in the water bungalows which to be set on the water while enjoying their favourite sea food.

The luxurious privacy offered here will be unmatchable but affordable. Continuous deck made out of salvage railway sleeppers along the lagoon water edge will provide a place to sit and enjoy the sun set in the evening and may be a cultural dance like ‘daha ata Sannniya’ be shown on a floating stage.
Infinity edge large swimming pool will be connected with the lagoon virtually and offers the experience of lagoon bath. Kid’s pool and the play area which connected to large landscaped garden will promote more of a family gatherings and day outs.

Main Restaurant which comprises spacious air condition space as well as outdoor dining will offer the delicious food under local and International Menus.

Exclusive sea food restaurant located by the lagoon will also provided the opportunity to taste the fresh seafood select by your choice.

Located in the top most level is the Spa and Fitness Center with outdoor and indoor terraces, where one will heal with yoga lessons and be fulfilled with total relaxation.
