Sathosa Motors –DFCC ink leasing deal to promote ISUZU vehicles

Sathosa Motors PLC, local agents for ISUZU vehicles is  in the forefront in the automotive selling in the country and has been growing steadily in the sales of  ISUZU Trucks. Maintaining the leading status in the Truck Market with 30% Market Share, Sathosa Motors is now offering concessions to its customers in collaboration with the DFCC Bank. DFCC  Bank in partnership with Sathosa Motors have entered into a unique agreement to offer Isuzu Trucks at a concessionary rate to all DFCC leasing customers , said Deshamanya Tilak Gunasekera Executive Director of Sathosa Motors who is also the Chairman of the Ceylon Motor Traders Association.

He noted that this was the first time that the DFCC had entered into an agreement with a motor vehicle company to provide its leasing facilities and this was the first time that Sathosa Motors tied up with DFCC . It will be a win win situation for both establishments, he predicted.[He pointed out that his company has entered into agreements with Hatton National Bank ,Commercial Bank Sampath Bank etc and the company maintains good relations with these banks in the island.   

 

 The agreement was signed by  Deshamanya Tilak Gunasekera Executive Director of Sathosa Motors and Nihal Fonseka, CEO – DFCC  in Colombo recently. According to the agreement, a Rs 50,000 discount on the value of the truck would be given along with a guarantee up to two years or 40,000 km  among their numerous models available. In addition, a 100,000 km warranty would be provided on the engine, provided all maintenance done at Sathosa Motors PLC , Mr. Gunasekera said adding that his company will also provide maintenance and service facilities for customers who purchase ISUZU Trucks under this leasing agreement.

ISUZU Truck sales have improved to considerable level as a result of this tie up with DFCC and the company has  received oders to purchase at least 15 units within first 10 days of the launch. [within short period] - Pls remove. ISUZU trucks are manufactured on SEE technology, which stands for Safety, Economy and Environment. Also, ISUZU trucks can run 400,000 – 500,000 km without any engine overhaul that other manufacturers cannot boast of. With that technology innovation, ISUZU trucks emit less Carbon Dioxide resulting in environmental friendly trucks. Also, on a liter of diesel, the mileage is quite good which is very economical he said.

The Sathosa Motors –DFCC vehicle leasing promotion will continue till the end of this year with the participation of the staff of both institutions. DFCC has 40 branches island wide and  the Sathosa Dealer network was increased from 46 to 60 dealers.

The Isuzu brand has always been one that commands strong consumer loyalty whilst also enjoying the position as market leader in the local truck market. Isuzu is filling a significant role as a manufacturer of commercial vehicles, light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles and diesel engines from Japan.

Sathosa Motors is the sole-agent for Isuzu trucks in Sri Lanka. Referring to the company’s main focus on promoting and marketing a new brand of Isuzu vehicles, Mr.Gunasekera said that the Isuzu brand currently has well over 100,000 vehicles on the roads of Sri Lanka which alone showed the brand’s high acceptance in the local market.

The company’s latest introduction to the commercial truck business is the new Isuzu N –Series Reward which is a light duty truck that was launched in mid 2009. Ever since it entered the local market the Isuzu N-Series Reward had been successful in maintaining a steady growth in the market, he revealed. It has a monthly sale of 40 to 50 vehicles, which is a remarkable figure for Sri Lankan truck market, he said.
This vehicle is manufactured according to Japanese environmental standards and therefore it has less carbon emissions enabling it to be more fuel efficient.

The particular model is more technically advanced and is therefore the most updated version of the Isuzu N-Series, Mr. Gunasekera said. Referring to market opportunities in the North and East , Mr Gunasekera noted that Isuzu is already a trusted brand in these areas.
