Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The lion

By Dilshan Dias, The British School in Colombo

The lion is a ferocious creature,
It also has handsome looking features,
Never go near a lion cub’s daddy or mummy,
Or you’ll become a feast that is yummy.

The lion’s fur is bright yellow,
But it’s soft as a marshmallow,
Please do not touch its fur and its mane,
Or it will be such a pain.

Don’t go near a lion and take a seat,
Or you’ll be dead meat!

Unfortunately, the lions are vanishing from the face of the earth;
Since some people are
preventing from giving birth.

So let’s stop people from killing lions,
Then they will not vanish from the earth.
