HIMT launches Australian vocational programmes in management

Harvard Institute of Management and Technology (HIMT), one of the latest and innovative private institutes in education, in association with The Management Edge Australia, launched a range of Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications in Management, in Sri Lanka, recently.

These programmes are approved by the Australian government, and have been developed to fulfill the Australian Employability Skills requirements. The qualifications are also listed within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) in the VET sector. This recognition per se provides the assurance of its high quality and international recognition.

The main feature of these programmes are that they focus on enhancing the employability skills of individuals, both prior to being employed and while employed, to further develop their career prospects and improve their efficiency opening a path to attaining high proficiency in their chosen field of study.
Mike Stall founder and director of The Management Edge Group & Ms. Manushri Bahukhandi, General Manager - International, expressed that "we are delighted to introduce a range of Australian Vocational and Training (VET) qualifications to the Sri Lankan market. This would provide an opportunity for the Sri Lankan students and the workforce to acquire employability skills in a range of management related disciplines and enhance their opportunities of employment, both locally and, in particular, in Australia. In addition they would be able to obtain an internationally recognized qualification at a fraction of the cost of obtaining it in Australia."

Dr. Egerton Senanayake, the Chairman of Harvard Institute of Management and Technology (HIMT) stated enthusiastically that "We are pleased to be associated with The Management Edge Group, which is a Registered Training Organization (RTO) in Australia, with over 30 years of experience in education and training. The main objective of our association with TME is to provide Sri Lankans with an opportunity to improve their employability skills, broaden their employment prospects both locally and overseas, and to improve the productivity of their respective organizations." He added " we are extremely pleased with and extend our unstinted co-operation to the government's efforts towards higher economic growth and more extensive development in the country by increasing the knowledge base in Sri Lanka through the public-private sector participation to widen the accessibility for youth to the portals of learning.

HIMT will be initially introducing the following qualifications in Sri Lanka : Diploma of Project Management, Diploma of Management, Diploma of Accounting, Certificate IV in Frontline Management, Certificate IV in Business Sales, and Certificate IV in Customer Relations Management.

All the aforementioned courses will be conducted by highly qualified and experienced TME approved faculty in the environs of state-of-the-art facilities. All respective certificates will be awarded for the above courses by TME of Australia.
