Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The stream

By Praneepa Ekanayake, Southlands College, Galle

The stream the stream
that flows by,
It jumps, it turns,
it twists and sigh.
It flows so merrily
down to sea,
Making it a place to be.

Its waters’ like a mirror
as clear as can be,
That when I peep inside
I can see me.
And in that water there’s golden fish,
That swim away with a
slight swish.

And beside the stream there’s a sandy bank,
That makes the scene
prettier with little rock tanks.
It’s such a lovely little stream,
That I really hope it’s not a dream.
