Lushanth of Trinity best boxer at Stubbs Meet

G. Lushanth of Trinity College Kandy was adjudged the Senior Best Boxer at the 94th Stubbs Shield Schoolboy Boxing Championships held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. B.D. M. Satyajit of Vidyartha College Kandy was selected as the Best Loser in this caegory.

DMTU Bandara of Kadugannawa National School carried away the Junior Best Boxer’s trophy while WKS Vithana of Pannala National School was selected as the Best Loser.

Vidyartha College Kandy emerged Team Champions with 28 points while Vidyaratha University College Horana were the runners-up with 27 points. St. Sylvester’s College Kandy was in third spot with 20 points.

Mr. Donald Munasinghe, President of the Boxing Referees and Judges and a former President of the Schools Boxing Association, distributed the major awards.

The tournament was sponsored by the Ministry of Education Sports Section.

Age 13-14 Years and 33-35 Kgs (Schoolboys): DMTU Bandara (Kadugannawa NS) beat MSJ Pushpakumara (Vidyartha).
Age 13-14 Years and 35 t-37 Kg (Schoolboys) LAI Perera (Elahara MV) beat KGI Subasinghe) Pannala NS).
Age 13-14 Years and 37-39 Kgs (Schoolboys): AK Maduranga (Vidyarathana) beat PAN Lakruwan (Gamini Ingiriya). Retd Rd 1.
Age 13-14 Years and 39-41 Kgs (Schoolboys): MCLJ Silva (Vidyarathana) beat WKS Vithana (Pannala NS).
Age 13 to 14 Years ands43 to 45 Kgs (Schoolboys): HPM Haduwela (Vidyarathana) beat GWB Manarame (Kalyapradeepa VP).
Age 13 to 14 Years and43 to 45 Kgs (Schoolboys): GWB Manarame (Kalyanapradepa VP) beat P.M. Udagedera (St. Sylvester’s).
Age 15-16 Years and 44 to 46 Kg (Junior): KBNJ Perera (St. Sylvester’s) beat WAI Sanjaya (Vidyartha).
Age 15 to 16 Years and 46 to 48 Kgs (Junior): YMD Thilakaratne (Vidyartha) beat TS Dananjaya (St. Sylvester’s).
Age 15 to 16 Years and 50 to 52 Kgs (Junior): UGNK Amarawansa (Peradeniya) beat MF Mohammed (Jamil-Ul Az).
Age 15 to 16 Years and 58 to 52 Kgs (Junior): MVW Silva (Summangala Panadura) beat KAS Banuka (Vidyarathana).
Age 15-16 Years and 52 to 54 (Kgs) Junior: EMSM Bandara beat LD Hewage (Vidyartha).Age 17 to 18 Years and 46 to 49 Kgs (Youth): BGRWarnasooriya (Vidyartha) beat MR Sandaruwan (Vidyarathana).
Age 17 to 18 Years and 49-52 Kgs (Youth): BDP Kumara (St. Sylvester’s)beat HSRS Gunasena (Sivali).
Age 17 to 18 Years and 52 to 56 KGS (Youth): TD Ranasinghe (Dharmaraja) beat HAC Roshan (Summangla Panadura).
Age 17 to 18 Years and 56 to 60 Kgs (Youth): OVKT Wijesiri (Sivali) beat BDM Sathyajith (Vidyartha).
Age 17 to 18 Years and 60 to 64 Kgs (Youth) G. Lushanth (Trinity) beat GGDA Gunasekera (Kingswood).
