Stafford reaches academic excellence

The performance of the students of Stafford International School at the IGCSE, Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Level Examinations held in May / June 2011 was outstanding.

Daniel Krishnapillai obtained A* grades in all five subjects he offered for the Advanced Level Examination, which ranks him among the best performers at the Advanced Level Examination in the world. Ruchira Wickramasinghe secured A* grades in all four subjects at the Advanced Level Examination.

An average of 70% of the Science students obtained A*, A and B grade passes while 65% of the Commerce students achieved similar academic excellence at this examination. Students displayed equal distinction at the Advanced Subsidiary Level Examination with two students obtaining five ‘A’ grades. A* grades are not conferred at A/S Levels.

Excellent results at the IGCES Examination enabled 98% of students to be qualified for the Advanced Subsidiary Level. Over 90% of the students achieved A*, A, and B passes in Mathematics, Economics, Biology, English Literature, Chemistry, Physics and French, while the percentage of A*, A and B grade passes in other subjects exceeded 65. Deborah Krishnapillai obtained 9 A* grades and 1 A grade, Dhanushika Sivanathan 8 A* grades and 2 A grades, Kavjith Durairaj 7 A* grade passes. These students have qualified for Edexcel awards. 40% of the students have more than 5 A grades including A*.

The overall results represent excellent achievements by Stafford students at all these examinations and indicate a fine effort by students and staff.
