FCCISL Sri Lankan Entrepreneur Awards in November

When an entrepreneur is adjudged as the Entrepreneur of the Year, that recognition gives them prestige, and thus the recognition would become worldwide. This was stated by Nushad Perera, Group Chief Marketing Officer/CEO, Dialog TV, Dialog Axiata PLC while accepting to be the Platinum Partner of the Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 organized by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Sri Lanka (FCCISL) at its launch held in Colombo this week.

Mr Perera said that they have accepted to be so, after an evaluation of the event and said that it is not just a sponsorship, but it is a partnership that they have entered with the FCCISL for three years and this partnership would be extended further. Kumar Mallimarachchi, President, FCCISL said that the Sri Lanka Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are recognized as Sri Lanka’s highest national honour to the business community and it is being held for the 16th consecutive year.

Entrepreneur of the Year Awards is staged at two levels, viz Provincial and National levels. Provincial awards will comprise 9 gold awards for the 9 provinces and 36 silver awards in the small, medium, large and extra large categories. With 72 bronze awards the total number of awards for the provinces would be 117.

In the National Awards there will be an overall Platinum award and 4 gold awards, 8 silver awards and 12 bronze will be awarded in the small, medium, large and extra large categories with awards totaling to 25 at the National Levels. The final National Level awards to select the Sri Lanka Entrepreneur of the year 2011 is scheduled to be held on November 23 this year.
