Rain hampers play on day two

Under 23 Cricket

Rain hampered the second days proceeding of the Under 23 Division One encounters played around the metropolis. There was no play at all in the match between Bloomfield and Colts at Reid Avenue due to the wet out field. The other matches which were played got off to a delayed start with play being possible only after lunch.

Tamil Union has already obtained a first innings lead over Ragama CC in the match played at the P. Sara Stadium. Tamil Union after making an imposing score of 324 bundled out Ragama CC resuming from their overnight score of four for no loss to a score of 107. Tamil Union batting the second time were 33 for 1.

At Braybrooke Place Moors were in a strong position making 159 for 3 thanks to a knock of 98 with nine boundaries and a six coming from Shehan Jayasuriya. This was in reply to Sebastianites scorer of 217. BRC resuming from their overnight score of 210 for 9 went on to make 225 against CCC who were struggling on 87 for 7 at the BRC grounds.

At the SSC grounds Leo CC sneaked through a close first inning lead over SSC. SSC resuming from their overnight score of 119 for 5 made 207 with Leo CC making 208 on day one.
