Danushka Ranjan to lead Under 18 Youth Rugby Team

Sri Lanka Under 18 outfit will be led by dashing Peterite centre Dhanushka Ranjan. Youth Commonwealth Games will take place in Isle of Man from September 6-13. Rugby Football will be worked off on September 11 and 12.

Players those who are born in1993, 1994 and 1995 can participate in this tournament with countries from Australia, England, Canada, South Africa, Scotland, Sri Lanka and Trinidad and Tobago taking part in it.

Team is coached by former Kingswood, Kandy SC and Navy SC player and present Trinity Head Coach Nilufer Ibrahim. The team will be Managed by former Antonian 1972 captain Tuan Dole.
Nilufer Ibrahim Head Coach of the touring team speaking to Sunday Times said that 16 players were under coaching camp in Kandy and Colombo. Further they were in one unit for more than 1 month which is really good for their understanding.

He continued by saying that the selected side was a promising outfit and expect to end in the top end. The following will make the tour :Dulaj Perera, Dhanushka Ranjan (Captain), (St Peter’s), Kanil Senviratne, Sanjaya Somasiri, Randhika Alwis (All from Trinity), Richard Dharmapala, Hashan Maduranga, (Science College ), Lochana Ekanayake, Miyuru Hewawasam, (Dharmaraja), Jason Dissanayake (Vidyartha), Woshan Randima (Ananda) and Arshad Jamaldeen (Royal)
