A 115-run partnership for the second wicket by Sadeera Samarawickrema (78 off 77 balls with 13 fours and a six) and skipper Aravindh Fernando (55 from 75 balls) saw St. Joseph’s College win their Under-17 Division I second round match against St. Servatius College, Matara by six wickets at the Sanath Jayasuriya ground in Matara on Wednesday (17). This win ensures the Joes with a berth in the pre-quarter finals of the tournament.

St. Servatius 196 all out in 50 overs (Thanula Sasmith 49 n.o., Vidath Dilshan 40, Dilshan Indika 28, Dilshan Madhushanka 22, Vihanga de Silva 20, Yeshan Samarasinghe 2/26, Sachin Hewawasam 2/32)

St. Joseph’s 198 for 4 wickets in 33.2 overs (Sadeera Samarawickrema 78, Aravindh Fernando 55, Kalpa Ravihara 19 n.o., Sanjika Ridma 2/53)
