Under 18 Youth Commonwealth side in Kandy

Sri Lanka Under 18 rugby outfit which consists of 16 players are hard at practice at Pallekelle Rugby Stadium for the Youth Commonwealth Games which will take place in Isle of Man from 6-13 September. At the games Rugby Football will be worked off on 11 and 12 September.

Players who are born between 1993 & 1995 can participate in this tournament with countries from Australia, England, Canada, South Africa, Scotland, Sri Lanka and Trinidad and Tobago will take part. According to reliable source Peterite Dulaj Perera is tipped to lead the team with Trinitian Sanjaya Somasiri being his deputy. Team is coached by former Kingswood, Kandy SC and Navy SC player and present Trinity Head Coach Nilufer Ibrahim. The team will be managed by former Antonian 1972 captain Tuan Dole.

The following is the squad of 16 players will be reduced to 12 for the final touring party.
Dulaj Perera, Dhanushka Ranjan, Bhanuka Peiries (All from St Peter’s), Kanil Seneviratne, Sanjaya Somasiri, Randhika Alwis (All from Trinity), Richard Dharmapala, Hashan Maduranga, Kanchana Lakshitha (All from Science )

Lochana Ekanayake, Miyuru Hewawasam, Dilantha Madushan (Dharmaraja), Chamala Fernando (Isipathana), Jason Dissanayake (Vidyartha), Woshan Randima (Ananda) and Arshad Jamaldeen (Royal).
