Achievers does it again!

About the same time last year, Achievers stunned the nation with a jaw-dropping, 9 out of 11 Sri Lankan prizes. But, the success of our tumultuous story did not end there: ACHIEVERS DOES IT AGAIN!
While the May 2011 exams proved to be a challenge, yet again the students of Achievers were able to showcase a brilliant performance, bagging 6 OUT OF 10 Sri Lankan prizes. To say that our performance in the May 2011 exam diet was extraordinary would most certainly be an understatement. And, we can say with absolute pride and confidence: Achievers is indeed where the GOOD becomes GREAT.

We continue to marvel the CIMA education industry with such brilliant performances. Surely, there must be something different in what we do…something that remains unobtainable elsewhere. This secret ingredient that has contributed to our unbeatable victories is what makes us unique. It is what has defined and shaped Achievers over the past 5 years. It is what has allowed us to continue, dominate and lead in the CIMA tutoring industry. It is without doubt our incredible and dynamic Lecture panel. Our lecture panel which comprises the most professional and ethical individuals, is one of the best in the country. These outstanding performances by Achievers can be directly attributed to our excellent lecturers, who possess incredible knowledge of all aspects of the business world - which is extremely vital to CIMA education.

Our lecture panel
At Achievers, teaching is regarded as a passion rather than a profession. This has been proved over and over again by the flawless dedication of our lecture panel. Comprising of renowned individuals, in the likes of Jairaj Krishnakumar, Ravi Edirisinghe, Senaka Kakiriwaragodage, Faris Ismail, Azad Hye, Rumy Sakkaf, Surath Chandrasena, Delon Kellar,Shehan Adikari and Shafraz Saleem, it can be stated that we possess a panel that has a diversity of experience among them and exceptional lecturing skills. Students consider themselves most fortunate to have learnt under these maestros.

This key success factor has allowed us to stamp our presence in the CIMA education industry. The talents of our lecturers are further exemplified by the number of CIMA graduates passing out each year, where Achievers accounts for approximately 50% of said graduates.

The May 2011 Prizes
We have achieved countless milestones ever since commencement. The unbelievable performances and the many prizes won in the May 2011 exams is yet another medal added to our prized collection, to be shined and cherished in years to come. Take a few minutes to examine the table below, which evaluates the May 2011 prizes of Achievers:

CMGA - the CIMA Master's Gateway Assessment, is an opportunity for those who possess an MBA to enhance their careers by doing CIMA. The CMGA is drawn from the management level of the CIMA syllabus. Upon completion of the CMGA paper, the successful candidates will be eligible to directly enter the CIMA strategic level. Our lecturers have been extremely successful in training these individuals to become qualified professional accountants, and this has been illustrated by one of our prize winners.

Performance strategy - This paper focuses mainly on financial and non-financial risks. This extends to financial instruments, and more general strategies of risk identification and management. With a syllabus as complex as this, winning a prize in the subject wouldn't have been an easy task for Miss. Nazleen, were it not for the exceptional lecturing capabilities of Jairaj Krishnakumar. With over 25 years of experience, Mr Krishnakumar has made it easy for students to relate to the corporate environment, especially as a result of the provision of relevant and recent examples.

Financial Management -This is a subject that is fundamental and crucial in the financial pillar, and would therefore be disastrous if not taught right. However, at Achievers this is taken care of by two of the most able lecturers - Faris Ismail and Surath Chandrasena, who explain and analyse the subject matter logically, enabling students to fully understand financial management - With their able guidance it was a dream come true for Miss Rasika, prize winner for FM.

Operational Level:
A clean sweep of the operational level, as we have managed to obtain 3 out of 3 prizes once again.Once again our lecturers have proved they have the ability to tailor their delivery to match the needs of students at different levels. The three subjects at this level form the basis of the three pillars in the CIMA qualification. Hence, it is absolutely essential that students fully comprehend these three subjects, which will determine their performances in the future.

Enterprise Operations: Winning the Sri Lankan EO prize for the 5th consecutive year, it comes as no surprise that Mr Jairaj Krishnakumar and Mr Delon Kellar are the best for Enterprise Operations. The many prizes clearly indicate that their combined years of experience and exceptional lecturing abilities continue to remain unmatched. It is relevant to note that the same combination of Mr Krishnakumar and Mr Delon produced EM prize (including a WORLD prize) 4 consecutive times Performance Operations: While this subject is usually regarded as the most challenging of the three subjects at the Operational level, at Achievers we do it differently, all owing to the young and dynamic individual, Mr Shehan Adikari. While students may be a bit slow on the uptake, Mr Shehan makes it quite easy to learn quickly, as a result of his clever lecturing techniques. Motivating every student to do well and ensuring that each student receives full attention, is what has allowed him to produce his second prize winner, Mr Charith Udugama, also the 7th in the world for Performance Operations.

Financial Operations: The success of Achievers in this subject is all due to one brilliant incomparable lecturer, Mr Azad Hye. Mr Azad has consistently been able to maintain remarkable pass rates over the past few years, so much so that he has not only managed to produce a prize winner, Mr Kanchana Lahiru Gunasekera, who is also the 6th in the world for Financial Operations, but also world rankers.

  • Nuwangi Fernando : 10th in the world
  • Charith Udugama: 11th in the world

Achievers has won a prize at almost all the levels, including CMGA. It is therefore no surprise that we form an integral part of CIMA education in Sri Lanka, and we will undoubtedly continue to achieve astonishing milestones with ease.
