Air Force edges out CH & FC

Air Force Sports Club had to put in all their power to overcome a spirited CH & FC by 17 points (2 tries, 2 conversions, 1 penalty) to 12 points (2 tries, 1 Conversion) in their Caltex Inter Club rugby encounter concluded at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

For Air Force tries were scored by Chanaka Chandimal and S Iddamalgoda. Charith Seneviratne and Radika Hettiarachchi added the extra points. Air force penalty was taken by Charith Seneviratne.
For CH & FC tries were scored by Centre Salu Salu and Number 8 S Lakmal. Indika Wickramasooriya converted one of them.

For Air force the experience of Skipper Milinda Jayasinghe and Radhika Hettiarachchi with Chanaka Chandimal took them towards victory.

After the completion of the first round games Kandy SC, CR & FC, Navy and Havelocks will battle it out for the Cup Segment. Air Force, Ch & FC, Army SC and Police SC will battle it out for the Plate segment. The second round games will start on 29 July. Referee-A C Tenakoon.
