Science drub S. Thomas

Science came up with a yet another surprise when they drubbed fancied neighbours S. Thomas’ by 31 to nothing in their Under-20 school league rugby match played at Mt. Lavinia yesterday. Science played with a well set game plan to prevent the Thomians from crossing over their territory. S. Thomas’ were never the same unit as against Royal last weekend but in contrast Science handled things to suit their ways.

Science led at half time by 9-0 with three penalties from winger Chathura Gomes. During the second half Science expanded their lead by posting four tries with a conversion. Their tries spree in the second session was launched by scrumhalf Richard Dharmapala, flyhalf Richi Dhananjaya, lock Kanchana Fernando and winger Harsha Maduranga. Fullback Oshan Malik converted the try posted by Dharmapala. - NA
