Niluka top wicket taker

Niluka Dilshan Kandaddarage of St. Sylvester's College Kandy has taken 60 wickets in under 19 cricket competitions. He started his cricketing career in the fourth year in school and led the under 12 and under 13 teams.

In an under 17 tournament game Niluka scored an unbeaten 72 against St. Anthony's College Katugastota and followed it up with 68 against Maliyadeva Kurunegala. Turning out for the under 19 team Niluka captured 4 for 37 against Ananda, 4 for 45 against Rahula College Matara, 3 for 56 against S. Thomas' Mt. Lavinia, 5 for 41 against Dharmapala Pannipitiya, 5 for 38 against Kingswood Kandy.

His performance (6 for 53) against Vidyartha in the Big Match won him the trophy for the Best Bowler in the match. In the 50 over game against Vidyartha he got 3 wickets for 18 runs in addition to having scored 39 runs. These performances earned him the awards of Best Batsman and the Man of the Match. Whilst still at school he also turned out for Kandy CC against Moratuwa St. Sebastianites CC and captured 6 wickets.
