Trials to pick Junior Rugby Asiad team

By Shamseer Jaleel

Both Central Province and Western Province will conduct games in order to select the final 22 to represent each province for the game on June 16 at CR & FC Rugby Grounds.

Central Province matches will take place at Nittawela and the Western Province Games will be worked off at CR & FC. All schools have been requested to name 5 players each from their various institutions.
The tour for the Junior Rugby Asiad will take place from June 25 to July 3 in Hong Kong with Sri Lanka playing alongside Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong.

The Lankans were placed number 3 last year. The Junior National Team will be coached by New Zealander Ellen Meachen who was in charge of the Romanian and Tongan before taking over the Sri Lankan outfit.
