Southpaw and Goliath

On Friday, the Citadel was on fire. The reason – the giant fast bowler coach and the decorated southpaw politico were trying demarcating their sexploit boundaries with an exhibition of fisticuffs which a score of junior cricketers really enjoyed. However when things were going further than just a show of strength the southpaw left the building. However people who know the bottom line say that nothing would happen as the two past cricketers who hail from the same part of the island are close to the right people at the palace.

Playing fiddle while the Citadel is on fire
People are talking as to how, while the Citadel is on fire with some burning problems its gaming chief is going to Queen’s Land on a 45 day holiday.

Clay at it again
The curator better known as Cassius Clay has made a visit to the German car agents and has placed an order for an expensive brand new limo.

Wanted CEO
In spite of the cash shortage the Citadel has asked for a new CEO as the incumbent has called it quits. Now among the aspirants they are – the nephew who plundered during the World Cup, the man in charge of the works of the game, the man who did the marketing before and heavy weight CEO who retired from that very position because of age.

What a waste
The occasion was a big rugby game. The VIP enclosure even though was not packed to capacity, the goodies came in as usual. But what a waste the VIPs numbered only 80 and the food that was ordered was enough to feed 750!

Practising hard
A dusky cricket great was busy practising at a ground. He was perfecting his shots and was even seen bowling. It looked as if this chap was getting ready to go to a far away land. It had been rumoured that a certain cricketer on this particular tour is being suspected of taking banned substances and maybe asked to return. So the dusky one is practising hard with the hope of being asked to join that tour party.

Nothing but talk
On that oval ball again. A certain official had tried hard to be in the saddle but had failed miserably. Four months have gone by and he is still in the same spot and nothing has happened where the game is concerned. At one time he breathed fire about bringing the game to its highest level. What has happened? All talk they say!

Making policies
Members in the highest policy making body are wondering what a doctor is doing hanging around the corridors. This medical guy is always in the habit of hanging around big shots and they are wondering how he can handle his medical affairs if he in this policy making body.

Holding on
A sporting body recently elected their office bearers but two posts were unchanged. This was done because they are being paid for holding on to the posts by another body dealing in the same sport. This is the third time that these two officials are holding on to these spots, all because of the money that they receive from the other sports body just for being in the said controlling body.

Sporty questions
The highest policy making body was in progress and a key member was asking the one that is all sporty, questions. Answers for the sporty one were being prepared by a member in the gallery who happened to be a kith and kin of the person who was asking all the questions. Those in the know were hiding their smiles because they know that this can only be a family affair and not serious as it seemed.
