Dananjana Seneviratna Ramith Rambukwella Kavindu Ashan Perera

Kavindu Ashan takes the Emerging Category while Dhananjana takes the International
As expected Royal’s prolific batsmen and their skipper Ramith Rambukwella has been hailed as the All Island Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2011.

Ramith also a member of the Sri Lanka under 19 team which took on the English teenagers earlier this year was in magical touch with the bat. Against the English Schoolboys this hard hitting left hander was able to give the local teenagers a good start, and he also did well in the schools season where he scored 471 in 21 innings.

Ramith’s most memorable performances came in their traditional big match against S. Thomas’. In the big match Rambukwella scored 83 and 79 in the two innings and also bagged 4 for 54 with his off spinners. Then a few days later the Royal skipper exploded once again when he hammered a match winning 103 not out in the limited overs encounter.

The second place in the Allisland contest has been taken by Supun Navaratne of Thurstan College, while Hemal Munaweera from Dharmarajah College Kandy has been voted into the third place.
Making this year’s contest a Royal special the Emerging category first place has been taken by Royal Panadura’s Kavindu Ashan Perera who polled 2576 votes to take this category. Kavindu Ashan Perera who top scored with a knock of 147 not out this season had a total of 802 runs in 22 innings.
Charitha Chathuranga also of Royal College Panadura has been voted into the second place while the third place goes to A. Dilshan Sanjeewa of St. Servatius College, Matara.

The most popular in the International schools category is Dhananjana De Jacolyn Senevirathne of Gateway College Colombo who polled 1494 against his name. As only three contestants took part in this category, the second and third places have gone to Gavitha Wickremasinghe of Lyceum International Wattala while the third place has gone to Mohammed Azher Samsoodeen of Leighton Park International School.
