Celebrating Culture and Diversity at Nuga Gama

Thirty Funday Times Club Members between 7 – 9 years enjoyed an interesting morning at Nuga Gama, the village in the city, at Cinnamon Grand Hotel.

After a welcome drink, Uncle Gamini the Village Headman, showed the kids the typical village features of Nuga Gama, which was decorated to celebrate Vesak.

This was followed by a very interesting puppet show, featuring Mahadanamutta and his newest pupil Polbemooni, the sister of Polbemoona. The kids really enjoyed the interactive and amusing show
by Sulochana Dissanayake, which also gave them an insight into the diversity of Sri Lankan village life.
A team game ‘Do You Know?’, also focused on the cultural diversity of Sri Lanka was next on the agenda. Chef Ronnie and his team showed the kids some typical dishes of the various ethnic groups in our country.

After a delicious repast of local dishes and fresh fruit juice, prizes were distributed to the winning Orange team. All participants received a cool calendar and memory game from Cinnamon Grand and tree-saving eco pencils from Aladdin Junior.
