Star lecturer S. Mayoorran joins Imperial College

The longest established Business School in Sri Lanka and a premier CIMA tuition provider, accredited by CIMA (UK) as a 'Learning Partner Institute' in 2004, Imperial College has a reputation for providing exemplary tutoring from the Certificate Level through to TOPCIMA.

Mayoorran Sivapiragasham

Known in the CIMA industry for having one of the best lecturer panels, Imperial College credits its success to its unmatched panel of lecturers. The key feature of this panel is that each lecturer is specialised in a particular pillar. Their focus lies solely on the subjects allotted to them in the respective pillar. This enables the lecturer to specialise in that area giving students the best in terms of focus and teaching.

Imperial College is proud to announce the newest lecturer on their panel, Mayoorran Sivapiragasham, who has proven his abilities at the Certificate Level with Fundamentals of Management Accounting and at the Operational and Management Levels with Performance Operations and Performance Management. This star lecturer joined Imperial College's elite lecturer panel in March, sharing his knowledge with the Performance Operations and Performance Management students by having extra question practice classes.

A young talented individual, Mayoorran started his CIMA career while being a student at the Moratuwa University, studying for a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a specialisation in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication. In addition to excelling at studies, Mayoorran has achieved excellence by obtaining medals and awards for various achievements and has taken part in numerous quizzes, on several occasions being part of the winning team.

Pravinth Rajaratnam, Director at Imperial College, had this to say "I am indeed happy to have Mayooran join my team of lecturers. He was just the person we needed to come on board, and complete our strong panel. I am confident that the current students will benefit greatly from his input before they sit their exams in May 2011, and in the future as he takes on Performance Operations and Performance Management'.

What sets him apart and makes him instantly popular among students at Imperial College is his commitment and dedication to helping students, not only to pass exams but ensuring that they graduate with skills not taught in a classroom. Students find his lectures interactive as he encourages discussions making them involved in the lecture. This method ensures that students actively learn and participate in class, increasing the levels of knowledge about the subject and practical situations attached to a particular topic. Moreover, students find his teaching experience coupled with excellent communication skills and an approachable personality makes the learning process valuable and interesting. In addition, he has constantly maintained above Sri Lankan average pass rates in his previous assignments.

When asked how he finds his time lecturing students at Imperial College, Mayoorran simply smiles and says 'I find it to be a great experience. The students have accepted me and I am glad I can contribute to their exam preparation. At Imperial College, it's not just about learning theory and working questions it's also about making learning a fun experience while ensuring that students understand what's being taught. I am looking forward to a continued journey with Imperial College.'

Imperial College and their lecturers have consistently maintained outstanding results and their students are recognised as the cream of tomorrow's business achievers. Their achievements, results and high pass rates speak of the quality, vision and dedication to provide unmatched support and facilities for students to ensure a future bright with promise and potential.
