CIMA Case Study Awards 2011: 'Showcase your story'

CIMA prides itself on graduating chartered management accountants who possess the business acumen essential to lead modern day organisations. The 'CIMA Case Study Awards 2011' is a new initiative taken by CIMA to keep their graduates fresh and progressive in their careers, while facilitating cross-company learning and knowledge sharing. Some of the participants of the competition and their employers shared their views on this new initiative by CIMA.

Shanaka Fernando, Assistant Vice President Human Resources, WNS Global services'

This is a momentous initiative for the youth perceiving professional careers where they receive exposure in order to explore prime subject areas of a business, where realistic learning experiences are examined. Further, the aspect of practically applying their learning will be experienced throughout, while accomplishing logical and analytical thinking.

The learning experiences received will enable a paradigm shift of contemporary thinking to take our young professionals to greater heights. A rise in professionalism will be a key highlight of this initiative. I wish CIMA and the participants all the very best for organising this initiative

Nireka Cooray, Financial Analyst, Amba Research

'This provides a great opportunity for us to use our theoretical knowledge and work experience and apply it in practice.

Also it provides a great platform to learn from the experiences of colleagues from different firms'.

Nadeesha Fernando, Internal Audit Officer, People's Bank.

'This will be an excellent opportunity to explore the business world beyond the classroom boundaries.

This exercise will enable an Individual to go into the grass roots level of the theories and experience how challenging it is when it comes to the real application and share the experience with others'.
