Chokolaate mother daughter fashion designer 2011 and after party

After a grueling few months of short listing and selecting the finalists, one of Sri Lanka's most talked about fashion competition is drawing near. All is set and ready to go at the grand finale on May 7, 2011 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre. 15 designers and one coveted title up for grabs! The fame of being the mother daughter fashion designer of the year. Oh yes, it's a title every aspiring young designer would want to have staring at them through their cupboard door and a golden feather in their caps. They have been working tirelessly towards becoming that celebrated designer.

The top fifteeen designers are Thushan Ranasingha, Shane Pereira, Rashmi Tippalagama, Asheni Palihawadana, Adhini De Silva, Camy Stave, Udaya Madusanka Wickramasinghe, Ishara Ayeshani, Maheshie Perera, Melani Liyanage, Nimanthie Ariyasinghe, Dimithri Nathasha, Niwarthana Edirisinghe, Krishan Galle and Huban Carvalho.

Everything is indeed set to go, as last year round it is expected to be a heart pounding event. No! there is not a time to blink an eye lid. Having visited the last year show, the event is something that everyone talked about and it ended leaving everyone wanting more. Clocks & watches will race and you will feel that time was not enough but you have been treated to hours of high quality entertainment amidst fashion excellence.

Then how does it feel for the contestants? Oh yes, they will be working hard behind the scenes and enjoying the climax of being on cloud nine and feeling the stars. It is a show they all want to be part of, participation is everything and winning is the glorious dream that they have been rolling in bed over. One is the champ but at the end of it all our winners. They get to showcase their talent to almost a thousand privileged visitors and screaming supporters.

Many special highlights await everyone at the event, don't be left out. Many will experience surprises that they would see for the very first time and relish the experience of being there. Its an event for everyone. "We want to make MDFC an iconic competition in the fashion industry in Sri Lanka and to give young designers the opportunity to showcase their talents in creating the future of the fashion industry in the country. It’s been a year since the first show and we are amazed by the quality of talent that seems to be fast emerging. At Chokolaate, we are with them and, The stage is set.." said Michelle Gunesekera Managing Editor of Chokolaate.

The completion will move into a grand after party that will enable everyone to unleash, unwind and mingle after battling it out tooth and nail. Yes, they will come together to celebrate each others success and share ideas that will be the pillars of the future of the Fashion industry in Sri Lanka. This is indeed the greatest opportunity to be a part of the emerging fashion industry in Sri Lanka.
