Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The World Cup

By Asheni Dissanayake, St. Bridget’s Convent

I am very sure and it is sad to say,
That we lost the most coveted cup that day,
We longed for it, and prayed for it,
We know our team strived hard for it.

We must not forget that luck plays a role,
That none of us have any control,
Although it was the end of that day,
Remember it’s not the end of the way.

Do not be disheartened,
As I have good news to say,
That the T20 and the next World Cup,
Are also on their way.
