Microimage mTouchMenu delivers innovative dining experience

Microimage, a leading local software company, recently unveiled an innovative restaurant menu application designed for Apple’s iPad. This application allows restaurants to design their menus completely online and synchronize with iPad devices thus providing a unique experience to diners.
The launch was held at the Nihonbashi Restaurant in Colombo where the restaurant was the first to adopt the application in Sri Lanka, the company said.

Speaking at the event Microimage CEO Harsha Purasinghe said, “We are pleased to launch this innovative application for the F&B industry through global application delivery models by using the power of cloud computing combined together with Apple App Store.”

mTouchmenu which is delivered online can be used by any restaurant or bar in the world by easily signing up and downloading the application from Apple’s App Store. This app comes with completely configurable wizard based approach to design and manage menus based on the restaurant preferences allowing various features to be enabled and disabled. It also supports the loading of images, descriptions, prices and item preferences and allows each restaurant to customize the look and feel with its own theme by providing the ability to change fonts, colours, front and background images, according to a company statement.

Dharshan Munidasa, Founder and CEO of Nihonbashi Restaurant said, “We put Sri Lanka on the culinary map of the world and this is how Microimage found us. Nihonbashi is the first restaurant in the world to use a restaurant menu on the iPad. The mTouchMenu application enables Nihonbashi to transfer an entire picture based menu system to a much more intuitive menu thus giving an enhanced dining experience. We have now been credited worldwide as being a trend setter for the hospitality industry.”
