TFO in step with trend and your purse

The latest clothes store in Colombo City promises style at a reasonable price
By Shalomi Daniel

Trendy and chic clothing for reasonable prices at a clothes store in Colombo? Impossible? Well not anymore!

The Factory Outlet (TFO) the idea of two friends- Sharhan Mansoor and Asif Iqbal- opened its doors on Sunday March 13, promising its customers smart and stylish clothing for quite a reasonable price. TFO added flavour to the opening ceremony by treating those who visited the store that Sunday to scrumptious cupcakes courtesy of Colombo Cupcakery, the home-based bakery run by Fazla Akram. “We want to create a favourable ambience with a fine selection of clothes at low prices,” says Sharhan Mansoor. TFO aspires to cater to the masses, not only the niche crowd, he adds.

Focussing mainly on clothing for casual wear, the well lit and spacious TFO building displays a wide choice of clothes for women, men and children. Also available are accessories, handbags and footwear. “I have been in the field for the past 14 years and acquired many contacts and sources, so it was decided to put them all together and create TFO,” explains Sharhan.

Keeping with the current trends TFO is using facebook and twitter as well for advertising. “The clothes are good and the prices reasonable,” says Kaushala Karunaratne a customer adding that there is quite a wide variety available.

“It is of international standard,” says Fathima Saleem, yet another satisfied customer, adding that she was pleased with the large selection of kurtha tops. Located on Havelock Road, Colombo 5, the Factory Outlet will be open all seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
