Premier League matches get underway on Feb 3

The Premier League Tier ‘A’ inter-club cricket tournament which was scheduled to be played from January 28 and postponed will now be played from February 3. There were five matches down to be played in the first round but now only three will be played with two matches being postponed to another date due to non availability of grounds.

One of the two matches between Chilaw Marians and NCC which was due to be played on the same day at the FTZ ground in Katunayake will now be played on February 7, 8 and 9 at the NCC grounds.
The other match in the balance is between Badureliya CC and Lankan CC which was due to be played at the Panadura Esplanade. According to sources the match will be postponed as the ground is not available. The other three matches will be played as schedule which are between Ragama CC and SSC at Reid Avenue, Colts vs Bloomfield at Colts ground and Tamil Union vs CCC at the P. Sara Stadium.

Meanwhile the Premier Tier ‘B’ will get underway only on February 18 with five matches down for decision. The five matches due to be played are Moors vs Navy at Braybrooke Place, Panadura vs BRC at Panadura, Police vs Seeduwa/Raddoluwa CC at Police Park, Army vs Antonians at Panagoda and Air Force vs Singha SC at Rifle Green.
