International trade fair in Jaffna on January 21-23

The International Trade Fair in Jaffna from January 21 to 23 is happening for the second successive year providing an opportunity for industries to set up their business in a land that has not been accessible for more than three decades, the organisers said this week.

The “Open for Business” fair at the ground joining Durayappah Stadium, Jaffna is being held with the support of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yarlpanam and Sri Lanka Convention Bureau with India been named as the Partner Country for this exhibition.

The FCCISL said in the statement that its organizing a business delegation from Colombo to the fair offering an all inclusive special package with the objective of creating a gateway to re-establish and pursue novel trade links and to prepare a platform to discuss future business opportunities.

“This is a very good opportunity for the entrepreneurs looking to initiate business linkages and invest in Jaffna. FCCISL has arranged an Investor Forum, parallel to Trade Fair where investment opportunities will be presented and one to one discussions / meetings with potential partners and institutional meetings will also be arranged,” it said.
