Veteran diplomat Manel Abeysekera released her memoirs ‘Madame Sir- Career and Dilemmas of the First Woman Diplomat in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service’ at a simple ceremony held at the Colombo Public Library on November 30.

The book, a Stamford Lake publication looks back on her early days in a male-dominated milieu and traces her distinguished career written with her characteristic candour, wit and humour.
